FAQs

Is massage therapy covered by OHIP?

No, massage therapy is not covered by OHIP. However, most company extended health plans provide some coverage for massage therapy, and in some cases for reflexology treatments.

Is a doctor referral required for a massage session?

No, a referral is not required prior to an appointment, but it is advisable to check with your insurance company prior to an appointment if you plan to submit any receipts for reimbursement.

What should I wear?

Most clients remove all their clothing, except underwear and at all times they are fully covered by a sheet. The therapist only uncovers the body part being worked on at a particular time. However the therapist will work within your comfort level and may work thru clothing. Please keep in mind that some oils are used and may stain your clothes.

Do I have to fill out any forms?

Yes. Massage therapy is a regulated health profession and as such requires:

  1. A health history form

  2. A signed consent form

  3. A signed privacy form

These forms must be completed, and signed prior to the start of any treatment.
